Otten frequently performs in the Cleveland, OH, Boston, MA and the Columbus, OH area. She has significant large ensemble and opera experience through her studies at Peabody Conservatory and New England Conservatory. She is also an experienced chamber musician having played in several woodwind and brass quintets.

Otten is an experienced teacher with an established studio. She teaches both in person lessons and zoom lessons. She specializes in coaching fundamental techniques and principles of musicality that help develop a well rounded musician.

As part of her time at Peabody Conservatory, Otten began her ongoing study into woodwind quintets written by women. Through this research and performance project, Otten hopes to bring awareness to pieces in this genre that are underplayed and underrecognized.
Horn Player Willow Otten is a Cleveland-based freelance musician and teacher who strives to push the boundaries of classical music. Otten is often a featured soloist at The First Unitarian Church of Columbus, performing such works at Strauss’ First Horn Concerto and Mozart’s First Horn Concerto. Otten has attended summer festivals including Eastern Music Festival, the National Symphony’s Summer Music Institute, and the Saluzzo Opera Academy.
Otten also has significant academic achievements. Otten holds a Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in music theory from Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and a Master's Degree from New England Conservatory. As part of her music theory minor at Peabody, Otten began her ongoing study into woodwind quintets written by women. Through this research and performance project, Otten hopes to bring awareness to pieces in this genre that are underplayed and underrecognized. Additionally at Peabody Conservatory, Otten was inducted into the Epsilon Omicron chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda, the prestigious music academic society.
